Restorative Yoga Workshop

with Shane Coppage

Saturday January 28th 1-3:00pm

Anderson Township Studio

This workshop provides a unique opportunity to relax deeply and to restore our overworked nervous system to a place of balance and better health. A restorative class is more about being than doing. Students are guided into simple, comfortable poses on the floor supported by props; including pillows, blocks, and blankets. The main focus of a restorative practice is to relax into the poses, allowing the props to support and assist in complete relaxation. Appropriate for all levels of experience.

Yoga Nidra

Guided by Jennifer Thompson

Saturday March 17th, 4-5:15pm Anderson Township

Sunday March 18th, 5:45-7pm Downtown

What is Yoga Nidra? Yogic Dynamic Sleep. It is moving without concentration or effort into a state between sleep and wakefulness. It is moving awareness with a precise order and pace through the physical body, chakras, and subconscious mind. This flow is accompanied by a subjective experience of relaxation. As energy is "freed up", it is redirected for healing and rejuvenation of over-taxed tissues, glands, and organs.

What to expect: brief intro, mild stretching, guided session of Yoga Nidra, gradual "waking", feedback, group discussion, Q&A

Every "Final Friday" 5:30-7pm

Anatomy for Yoga ~ By understand a few fundamental principles, you can make your personal yoga practice or teaching considerably more effective and efficient, much safer and less frustrating.  No latin experience required, this is a practical and experiential class.

Yin yoga seminars ~ Yin yoga is simple enough that students can learn the fundamental of the practice in a relatively short time.  A workshop could be as short as two or three hours, but could also present more detailed information and several practice sessions of greater depth over the course of a weekend seminar.

Meditation workshops ~ Based upon thousands of years of spiritual science, this workshop makes meditation accessible to everyone. We have experience teaching meditation in a variety of formats. A single two to three hour seminar can be a great way to introduce students to several useful techniques to add to their own home practice, an extended series of lessons over time can help students develop their personal practice under the guidance of an experienced teacher.

Partner Yoga ~ Partner yoga gives two people a chance to benefit from the support and energy of each other. Partner yoga can strengthen trust within and without.  Partner yoga routines provide a unique way to not only synchronize breath and movement - but also personal connections and relationships.

Reiki ~ In this workshop you will learn the history and evolution of Reiki, what Reiki can and cannot do, how to use Reiki to help yourself and others, how to give a full or a partial Reiki session. You will also learn the basics of subtle anatomy and the chakras.  Reiki Attunements will be followed by time to practice with the guidance of a Reiki Master Teacher.
